The Difficulties to Find the Costumes..

Hey guys!!Do you find curious with all of these body language?? Can you interpret what gestures do we have? Yes, it's P-A-N-I-C. Panic. Do you wonder why we are panicking?? Here is the problem... After we make all of this blogs and the play script, now we have found difficulties to find the ancient Chinese's costumes. We already called all of the Event Organizers, Dancer's company, and Photo Studios in Surabaya that we know. However, it is not as easy as we thought before... They do not have the Chinese costumes that we want. Do you know why this things happen? It is because of the uniqueness of our costumes :)
Today, we still try harder to find that costumes because by this Saturday, that costumes will be needed to make the other stuffs for our play, which is to do our viral marketing, such as poster and playbill. So, guys, if you want to know the next stories about our incredible stuff we are going to make, just stay tune with this blog, and wait for our newest entries... Ok??

Our Review for the Remarkable Characters

After showing the history of the real characters, now let's hear about what the performers think of the characters they're performing. Also, we bet you'll say "WOW!" because it's better and more dramatic than the real history. As we told you before, we'll make it ALIVE! We bet you'll feel that you've been brought to a new remarkable world you've never been before! Just feel the mixture of the ancient China, the Machiavellian principles, and the "purple cow". =)
We dare to say that you're enthusiastic already, aren't you? Now, we'll share a little bit of our secret by our review!

Juventius Prayogi as Li Shimin
Li Shimin is an ambitious ruler who gains the title "Emperor Taizong" when he becomes the Emperor of Tang Dynasty. He always does everything by his own way, and never listen to anyone. However, despite his domination, he can overcome any obstacles in front of him. He's got a great charisma, like the presence of the lion, and people bow down in awe of him. He cannot be fooled by anyone, because he has the vigilance of the eagle. He never trusts anyone. He punishes all who defy him, even his own family. I think he's a great man, just a ruler we need in our chaotic country.

Go Vania Lukito Untari as Empress Zhangsun
Empress Zhangsun is a good example for mothers. She makes a great image that by being a mother, you must protect your children. She's brilliant, tough, and gorgeous. However, she is hurt by his husband, but she must always look graceful. I think play as her is a challenge for me. I have to look graceful but at the same time I must not lose my expression. In my opinion, she was the greatest woman at that time because of her love toward her husband and her son.

Karel Agusta as Li Tai
I think that Li Tai is a very handsome, diligent, care and obedient to his parents, especially his father at his age. When his father tells him to practice more, he directly does it and tries at his best to please his father. Even though he is an obedient person, he still is an ordinary human who can get hurt. Furthermore, his love to his mother is the biggest factor that makes him to battle against his father, Li Shimin. I think that performing as him is a very interesting role because I have to be obedient to my ruthless father, yet care about my mother's condition. This is why I choose this character to be performed because it is really interesting and it gives me more challenge.

Junita Santoso as Wu Zetian
In my opinion, Wu Zetian who will be performed by me is a harsh person. However, harsh person doesn't mean that people don't like her. People are amazed and love her very much. She is smart, intelligent, and capable of handling the power that she wants calmly. She also implements the Machiavellian principles in every step to achieve her goal which is to get the whole power in the Kingdom. She always gives the best for the Emperor, yet actually it is her trick to get the trust from the Emperor. Besides, with her seduction, she gets rid of the Empress and the Prince from the throne. In addition, it is just a little of my information. There are still lots of things that you don't know about Wu Zetian. Therefore, to know about her, just look for our performance in Petra Christian University!!

The Flourishing Age

Good day, guyz!
Next update from JJKV!
Of course it's about "The Thorn of The Frozen Flower" we proudly present!

We said in our first blog that our theme is in the Tang Dynasty of ancient China. If you're a real China fan, you should feel familiar with this dynasty in the history. Founded in 618 and ending in 907, the Tang Dynasty was the most powerful and prosperous country in the world. In this glorious period, the economy, politics, culture and military strength reached an unparalleled advanced level, especially under the rule of the Emperor Taizong.

Also, we choose the names of our characters such as Li Shimin, Zhangsun, Wu Zetian, and Li Tai because they are the most influential people in the Tang Dynasty (we don't make up names, you know) Let's take a look on what they did in their lives.

Li Shimin (李世民) or the Emperor Taizong
Li Shimin was a skilled politician, a master strategist, and an excellent calligrapher. He also won the battle of XuanWu Gate which killed his two brothers, and he was crowned the Emperor Taizong by his father in the Tang Dynasty. During his reign, the national economy became prosperous and the national social became stable. His era was mentioned as the "Flourishing Age".

Wu Zetian (武则天)
At the age of 14, she was selected to be Emperor Taizong's Cai Ren (or concubine) because of her beauty and intelligence. Actually she was famous for her will of power; she killed her two sons and a daughter to become the only female Empress in ancient China.

Empress Zhangsun (長孫皇后)
She was the wife of Emperor Taizong. She was of Xianbei origin and well educated. She was a frugal and humble Empress who prioritized virtue. When she died, Emperor Taizong received her 30-volume work titled "Examples for Women".

Li Tai (李泰)
Li Tai, who carried the title of Prince of Wei, was favored by his father, Emperor Taizong, for his literary talent and studiousness. Emperor Taizong agreed to create Li Tai the crown prince. However, because the Emperor didn't want his brothers rebel, he demoted him and make his younger brother the king instead.

Interested enough? Just watch our performance because we will make it alive!

Our Inspiring Figure (Guess who??)

Guys, have you ever had a figure who inspires you the most? Or, have you been a fan of someone? We bet you do! Actually, our buddy here, Juventius, has been a fan of Sylvester Stallone! He loves his acting, voice, and even accent (you know how unclear his accent is, don't you? But the fact is... he loves it).

Guys, do you know the best movie about ancient China in the cinema? Also, the actors and actresses are all-famous there. Let us mention some, they are Chow Yun Fat, Gong Li, and Jay Chou... Oops! It looks like we mentioned them too much T_T Now, we're sure you know it! Yeah, you're right, it's the Curse of the Golden Flower!! However, from those three stars, one of them inspires us the most! He's good at singing and acting. He's also got a very gorgeous appearance, as gorgeous as our performer here, Karel! =p You're gonna get charmed by our actor here! And now, just enjoy one of his video clips!! :)))

Have you watched this video? Feel familiar? Yeah, he's Jay Chou, guyz!!
Jay Chou has been our inspiring figure because of his multitalent. He also loves and cares for his family. His songs always mean something very useful to our beloved people and lives. Some examples are his song "Ting Mama De Hua" which means we have to obey our mother's words, and "Dao Xiang" which tells about we, as people, must work hard. That's why he's still famous until now, especially for girls! Now, back to our performance, are you curious about our "Jay Chou-esque" performer named Karel here? Just watch our performance then! :) Because we're sure you'll never regret it!

Here it Comes, the Best Brandnew Chinese Drama Ever 2009!!

Guyz, if you watch movies about ancient Chinese, what do you think? Just consider Red Cliff, Curse of the Golden Flower, and Three Kingdoms, we're sure that you think it's awesome and you can see a lot of Chinese principles and tactics inside these movies (and of course the kung fu and war!! =p). And now, you're going to watch the brandnew ancient Chinese drama which will astonish you more, which would be performed by us! We entitle it "The Thorn of The Frozen Rose". Deep inside the meaning of the title, we can find that there will be 'a thorn' in people's soul.

You will find The Thorn of The Frozen Rose very unique and special. Actually, the essence of this drama is about the Western Principles, which are the Machiavellian principles. And we will combine these principles in our Chinese drama. So now, are you curious already about this? We think we will tell you a LITTLE BIT of the story. The Thorn of The Frozen Rose takes place in a Kingdom in the era of Tang Dynasty, which was the most prosperous era in ancient China. This prosperous Kingdom has been led by the most powerful and ambitious ruler, Li Shimin, also known as the Emperor Taizong. He always does everything by his own way; hence he's got the kingdom, a beautiful wife, a handsome son (for girls : we're sure you'll be charmed when you look at him ;p), and even a gorgeous concubine. However, he's too perfectionist, and he always quarrels with his wife and son. It creates the will of his wife to coup and declare a war, and the judgement day comes. But.... who knows who's gonna win? Or, is that the only reason why the Empress wants to coup? That's a secret =p.... We just don't want to spoil it.

Now, are you excited? Do you really want to know about the full story? Now, I will tell you a hint to get what you want. Just go watch our performance in the Petra Little Theatre of Petra Christian University, Surabaya, Indonesia on June 2009! Just don't miss it!!

O yeah, we haven't introduced ourselves! We're JJKV (Junita, Juventius, Karel and Vania). We're just 4 mere teenagers who will show the world what we're made of! Also, we are the performers of The Thorn of The Frozen Rose!

Here we are : (from the left) Junita, Juventius, Karel, Vania.
We're gonna make you feel the blend of the touch and the excitement of our performance! >:)
